Our Story

The Payroll Collective was born from a simple but powerful idea, What if payroll could be more than just numbers and compliance? After more than 20 years in senior payroll leadership roles across a wide range of industries and complex organisations, our founder was driven by a desire to leave a meaningful legacy. The question was clear: “How could I give back to the payroll industry in a way that truly makes a difference?”

With payroll rapidly evolving from an unregulated function into a space governed by heavy compliance and oversight, there was a need for a new kind of organisation. One that was values-led, people-focused and driven by purpose. And so, The Payroll Collective was created.

Starting as a one-person consultancy, working with retail and local government clients on system implementations and process improvements, the business quickly gained momentum. In just two years on, we’ve grown into a passionate consultancy business, supporting more than 30 clients across Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines, impacting over 50,000 employees.

At the heart of our growth is a strong commitment to our values, our people and our belief that culture is our true point of difference. We’re now known for delivering some of the most efficient and successful payroll system implementations in the industry, but more importantly, we’re known for creating a workplace and client experience that’s genuinely different—refreshing, human, and impactful.
